Connor Ryan Craig
Connor Ryan Craig, 7, of Shipman, Virginia, accompanied the Lord to Heaven on Saturday, November 27, 2010.
Connor was born on July 18, 2003, in Augusta County, a son of Frank Andrew Craig and Maria Dawn Lee Craig.
He was preceded in death by his cousin, Malena Jade Lee.
In addition to his parents, Connor is survived by his brothers, Jesse Tyler Craig and Nathan Lee Craig of Shipman; his maternal grandparents, Kenneth Wayne Lee Sr. and Joanne Frank Lee of Afton; his paternal grandparents, Clarence Robert Craig and Anna Stratton Craig of Shipman; his uncle, Kenneth Wayne Lee Jr. and his wife, Angie, and their children, Savannah and Addison of Strasburg; his aunt, Karen Lee of Fairfax; his uncle Clarence R. "Sprue" Craig III and his children, Alvin T. Craig and his wife, Crystal, of Temperance and Jennifer L. Craig of Lynchburg; his aunt, Jane Baker and her husband, Larry, and their children, Justin and Katie of Strasburg; his aunt, Elaine Hallstrom and her husband, Henry, and their children, Johannah and Joseph of Lynchburg; and his cousins, Stephanie, Dakota, Anna, Megan, Mackenzie, and Haley Craig of Temperance.
Connor was a second grade student at Rockfish River Elementary School who brightened all with his radiant, contagious smile and who had an immeasurable love for his brothers. He learned every day from his brothers, and his quick wit and mastery of humor at a young age gave him an amazing ability to make friends. He loved and excelled at soccer, basketball, and little league baseball, and he could throw a football like there's no tomorrow.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Thursday, December 2, 2010, at Rodes United Methodist Church with the Reverend Richard McDowell and the Reverend Clyde Mawyer officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Rodes United Methodist Church, 286 Avon Road, Afton, Virginia.
Memorial contributions may be made in Connor's memory to Rockfish River Elementary School Playground Fund, Attention: Nita Hughes, 200 Chapel Hollow Road, Afton, VA 22920 or Rodes United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, 286 Avon Road, Afton, VA 22920.

I do not know your family nor did I know your son but his death has been weighing heavy on my heart ever since I heard about it. As a Mom of a six year old son, my heart breaks for your family. I can only pray that the Lord gives you and your family the strength to get through losing your precious baby boy.
