Conrad E. "Pete" Baetz

Pete helped me get VA 'service connected' disability status for injuries I received in a jeep 'rollover' he and I were in a jeep 'rollover' on Hill 180 near Phu Bai, Vietnam on April fools day, 1969. He was our post legal clerk at the time. Years later I was able to contact him on the internet and he wrote letters to the VA verifying my claim. Pete was a great friend. We had many laugh's and fun together. I served Pete and Andy plenty of Guinness when they stopped at the Pub. He will always hold a special place in my heart. Hope he is driving a cool Corvette in heaven!! Sending my sympathy to the family.

Pete was a classmate of ours. I am so glad to read what Dean Strang had to say, Thank you! I know he will always be remembered for being a truly good man! RIP, Pete.

Pete was an authentic and decent man, remarkable for his intelligence, moral and intellectual honesty, wit and gentle sense of humor. He understood the human condition and both loved and mourned us for that. He laughed with, but not at, us. Pete's was a life well lived, I think. I will miss him.
