Your mom was splendid in her lilac wool cape, her cane of flowers, and her hat, always the dignified Queen Mum but with a sashay and an opinion that might knock your socks off. A delightful lady, one whom I wholly enjoyed during my days in Chestnut Hill. She was a national treasure, and Sara Mai and Hilary still have her book on Keep America Beautiful.
