I will never forget all of the time spent with Connie and Karolyn, as little girls, on their farm in Viking, MN. I am Connie's cousin. My sisters and I spent our summers with them every year growing up. We have much to remember of those days. Once we graduated from high school our lives took us in different directions and we lost touch with Connie. When we heard she was sick it saddened all of our hearts. Connie, a beautiful woman, was one of my dearest friends, and mentors as well.

Those of us who were blessed to bask in Connie's compassion and wisdom must vow to carry on her legacy of deep listening, courageous guidance and wholehearted laughter.

Judy my friend...We are the world where the longing mountains are the most grounded.

My love and prayers to the Andrea and Judy - their mother often provided me encouragement and shelter when I lived in Rochester, and I know that I wasn't the only one. She is missed.

When Connie first became my therapist she commented once that she had a rich inner life and I thought, "Hmmmmm, I wonder what that is like."

When I was working on some difficult experience and wanted to know what I should "DO", she would tell me to just "BE".

When I was feeling a difficult emotion, she would encourage me to "Stay with it".

There were times that these things would actually annoy me and when I told her so she would just smile knowingly. (Which probably...
