The Lord gave and now He has taken away. Mrs. Melton was one of the sweetest women I ever knew. I lived two houses down from her on Linden St for the first 17 years of my life. Our birthdays were a day a part and every year she would give me her birthday balloon and a card. She made the best peach preserves I ever tasted. She had the best garden I ever seen.
