I remember how you always smelled so good and how soft you were when you hugged me, which was often. You always made me feel like I was the most beautiful and brightest girl in the world. I liked the sweet way you had of cupping my cheek in your hand. I'll miss your soft voice and sweet laugh.

Dear Mom, As your first born I had your full attention all to myself for the first 9 years of my life. I still remember the day in 1943 when we walked together to my first day of school. I also remember the times during the blackouts sitting together in the dark with only the light from your cigarette and the comfort you gave me that everything was allright.

My dear Mother,

You have been a delicate flower in God's garden, softly and gently infusing your children and all those who knew you with the sweet aroma of Christ. You were very petite in stature, but what a strong presence you have had in our family, and it will continue from generation to generation, until we are all with the Lord.
