MAHERAS, Constantina "Tina" (Petropoulos) Constantina "Tina" (Petropoulos) Maheras, 78, of Hartford, beloved wife for 51 years of Aristomene Maheras, died Tuesday, (October 28, 2008) after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family. She was born in Koroni, Messinia, Greece daughter of the late George and Anthey Petropoulos before immigrating to the U.S. in 1954. Tina was co-owner along with her husband of Teddy's Lunch in Hartford and West Hartford for 48 years. She was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral. She was a loving wife, mother, and Yia-Yia and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Spiros and his wife Jeanine Maheras of Glastonbury, and George and his wife Lorie Maheras of Newington; four daughters, Sia and her husband John Callas of West Hartford, Effie and her husband John Nisyrios of Vernon, Demetra and her husband Bob Turi of Glastonbury, and Anthey Presutti and her fiance Michael Boucher of Southington; five brothers, Angelo Petropoulos of W. Springfield, MA, Theodore Petropoulos of Wethersfield, Panagiotis Petropoulos of Hartford, Pandelis Petropoulos of Australia, and Nicholas Petropoulos of Greece; 14 grandchildren, Austin Maheras and his wife Lauren, Steffane Maheras, Aristomene and Nicole Maheras, Dion, Aiyana and Anevay Callas, Pandelis Nisyrios and his wife Lori, Constantina and Anastasia Nisyros, Ariana and Alekzander Turi, and David and Katherine Presutti; a great grandchild Taylor Nisyrios; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother Dimitri Petropoulos. The funeral will be Saturday, November 1, 11:30 a.m. in St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral, 433 Fairfield Ave., Hartford, with Rev. George F. Zugravu, Dean officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
