I was in Mrs. Brooks class when she was Miss Johnson (probably her first year at East Central). She was a kind teacher. May God comfort you in your time of sadness.

A friend for many years when my husband and I owned the Countryside Convenience Store in Wade. She will be remembered by the loving Christian life that she shared with so many. My prayers are with her family.

Although I did not personally know Mrs. Brooks, I was impressed to read that she and Mr. Brooks were married for fifty years. It reminds me of these words found in the Holy Scriptures recorded immediately after God presented the woman to the man: "That is why a man will leave his father and his mother and he must stick to his wife and they must become one flesh." No doubt out of love for one another, that is exactly what Mr. and Mrs. Brooks did.
May the peace of God comfort you, Mr....

Mrs Cora was such a sweet, loving, Christian lady. She will be missed. I grew up at Barton and went to church with her for many years. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends.

Mrs. Brooks was my third grade teacher at East Central. I remember her reading a Bible story with us every morning and saying a prayer with us. Years later I saw her at Barton Baptist Church where my parents, Frank and Rebecca Mowdy attended church. She will be missed greatly by all of thise who knew her.
