Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, Cora Jean Morrey Swenson, peacefully went into the loving arms of Jesus and her Heavenly home. She was reunited with her sweetheart on Monday, January 10, 2011. Cora was born on August 16, 1931 in Payson, Utah to Albert James and Sarah Rae Smith Morrey. She married Jack Dale Swenson on June 24, 1949 in Ferron, Utah and they were sealed in the Manti Temple on March 5, 1955. They shared 54 wonderful years together before he passed away in 2006. Cora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and her family was her highest priority. Cora worked as a LPN and worked at Hughes Hospital in Spanish Fork and the Utah Valley Hospital in Provo. She was caring, compassionate, and dedicated to those she cared for. She enjoyed ceramics, crocheting, knitting, embroidery, camping, and family activities. She was the American Legion State President and the State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Cora has served as a visiting teacher since 1950. She also served as Primary President, twice, and in the Choir. Cora is survived by her four children, Lee Ann (Bill) Bailey, Alexander, AR; Steve A. (Patricia) Swenson, Cokeville, WY; Jolene (Eldon) Stubbs, Spanish Fork, UT; and Allen (Kimberly) Swenson, Craig, CO; 18 grandchildren; 25 great grandchildren; her brother, James “Jim Albert (Lorna) Morrey; and her sister, Leslie Rae Wareham. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Dale Swenson; her parents, Albert James Morrey and Sarah Rae Smith Morrey; a brother, Curtis Byron (Bud) Allred; a great grandson, Codey Clint Montague; and a great granddaughter, Sagan Maureen Knight. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 14, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the Canyon Ward Chapel, 3477 E. Riverbottoms Road, Spanish Fork, Utah (see www.walkerfamilymortuary.com for map).
