Corey Guthrie Corey Guthrie died on Friday, August 6, 2010, doing what he loved, riding his beloved motorcycle, "Raven." Recently, he solidified the bond with his machine by having the midnight stained bird tattooed on his leg.

Corey lived his life like few others, never looking back, focused on tomorrow. He was born on June 15, 1983, to John and Sherilyn Guthrie. He attended Mainland High School in Daytona Beach and graduated in 2001. After finishing high school, Corey heeded the call to serve his country and joined the Army. While in the Army, Corey served bravely as an intelligence officer in Iraq and was also stationed in Germany. While serving, he met Gail Henofer. The two married before graduating college from the University of South Florida.

The couple traded the beaches of Florida for the mountains of Virginia when Corey took a contract position at the National Ground Intelligence Center located in Charlottesville, Virginia. He worked diligently to serve those still in uniform.

While still in Florida, both Gail and Corey joined the motorcycle club Street Thunder Cats. After moving to Virginia, Corey sought to start a new chapter and realized his dream in 2009 with five friends. Corey was named president of the new chapter and set to work growing the club's profile through public service. One of the first events organized by the club was a fundraiser for the Charlottesville-Albemarle Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, which raised several thousand dollars for the non-profit. Over 100 motorcycles participated in the event.

Corey is survived by his parents, Jon and Sherry; siblings, Palmer and Brandie; and his brothers and sisters in the Street Thunder Cats.

Not sure what to say?

I did not now Corey but it sounds like he was a kind and decent human being with a love for animals, family and country. I'm sure he will be deeply missed. My prayers go out to his family and friends.

The gypsy wind, it called your name,
No time to say good-bye.
You left us here alone,
To take your final ride.

The world it couldn't tame your soul,
You lived your life with pride.
Now you soar free - like the raven
You're on your final ride.

Your memory won't fade,
We'll hold you deep inside.
We'd come with you if, we only could,
Upon your final ride.

It's time to say so long,
As you take your final...

I did not know this young man but it sounds like he was a wonderful person with a big heart for others, people like this will surely be missed.Prayers to the ones left behind may God give you the peace that you need right now. God Bless you all!!
