Cornelius "Corn" James Jones was born April 20, 1990, to Corine Jones and Marvin Jordan. Throughout the years, Otis Williams was a father figure who helped with his upbringings. On February 21, 2024, God opened Heaven to accept an angel. He was preceded in death by his Great-grandfather; James and wife; Wilhelmanie Herring, Great-grandmother; Annie Rachel Williams, Uncle; Daryel Herring, Grandfather; Joseph Durant, friend; Michael "Mike" Stephens and uncle; Tass Jackson.
Cornelius attended the Pontiac school district. He was made, born, raised and loved by the city of Pontiac, and the city of Pontiac adored him just as much. Cornelius was a man of influence, stature and favor (Luke 2:52). He had an unwavering love for all his children, and loved playing basketball, listening to music, cooking and dancing. He loved and enjoyed people of all walks of life, he was overall just a free spirit.
Cornelius leaves behind his legacy; his parents; Corine Jones and Marvin Jordan, his Daughter, Star Harris, and Sons, Ke'Ondre Lightner, Kam'ron Jones and Kar'son Jones. He has a host of siblings; Charles (Jessica ) Penermon, Cornisha Penermon, Porsha Coleman, Donte (Khalia) Coleman, Michael Miller, Moniqua Turner, Ellen Marie Hayes, Erica Hubbard Adkins, and Jordan "Nunu" Stewart. He leaves behind his grandparents; Mildred Jones, Pastor Johnnie Jordan and Evangelist Odeanod Jordan.
He is survived by a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins; including a special cousin Angelo Postell, Nieces, Nephews, and Friends; including best friend Jarvis "Bear" Walker and his forever friend and love Tarell Rogers.
Cornelius Jones will lie in repose on Monday, March 4, 2024, at Cobb's Funeral Home 151 Orchard Lake Road, Pontiac, Michigan, from 12:00pm until 4:00pm.
Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church 318 Auburn Ave, Pontiac, Michigan. Family hour will begin at 10:00am and the service wiil start at 11:00am.
Internment will be held at Perry Mount Park Cemetery, Pontiac, Michigan.
