Cornelius D. O'Leary, 95, died on February 23rd, 2023. "Neal" was a life-long Chicagoan. He was the completely devoted husband, for nearly 73 years of Dolores (nee Hoffman). He was the loving father of Patricia (George) Hovany, Daniel, the late Catherine, Mary (Timothy) Korbus, James (Eleanor Nadbielny) and David. Neal was also the proud grandfather of Matt, Katie and Megan Hovany, Christine and Steve Korbus and Heather and Rachel O'Leary. He was the great-grandfather of Carrie, Shannon, Alex, Ryan, Cooper and Charlotte.

Neal attended St. Gall grammar school and St. Rita high school in Chicago. He was a veteran of World War II and was a perimeter guard at the Nuremburg trials among many other experiences. Neal was a career union electrician who worked for the Chicago Fire Department (32 years) and various contractors.

Neal and Dolores lived a full and happy life, enjoying being with their family and taking numerous trips across the country plus many cruises to Alaska and the Caribbean. Neal and Dolores loved spending winters at their condominium in Florida.

Visitation Tuesday, from 3 – 8 p.m. at Markiewicz Funeral Home, P.C. 108 Illinois St. Lemont. Funeral services and Interment will be private.

Neal, known by all of us as "Butts" from childhood days, was a great husband to my sister, as well as a great father. He was very generous to all, his children, myself and others. Butts put up with my yearly two-week visits to their home in Florida for many years, and was always a good brother-in-law. In Florida, he provided me with all a northerner could want or enjoy, including a Cruise to Mexico, and wished to send Dolores and me on another cruise, but I enjoyed Florida and my time...
