Today I think about you and your warm smile every time you walked into our MJ shop. Think of you often, your portrait hangs behind my desk in the office.

To this day, every time I discuss leadership with anyone, which is often, I am reminded of you and your phenomenal care of Soldiers. Many have made impacts on me, but none so much as you. I rest easier knowing someday you will be my Sergeant Major once again. Love you, my friend. ~Hans

My dear today marks 13 years since you left this side of heaven to be with the Lord. I still miss you but I know that you are looking down on me and the kids...and our grandkids too. I find comfort in this. Love you always and forever,

It has been 16 years since I served under CSM Gilmore in Hawaii and 13 years since he emailed me at Fort Hood to make sure I was doing okay. He was a great leader and will never be forgotten.
