Not sure what to say?

In 1976 I entered Spring Hill College and Dr. Schlichting was my advisor. He saw immediately my potential and nurtured my analytical skills, especially in Economics. I am forever grateful for his kindness. My condolences to the family. Carol Francis Class of 1980 Spring Hill College.

She said he was delightful!

My deepest sympathy Susan. I served with Cort on several committees and he was a great colleague as well as a rigorous teacher. May he rest in peace.

Susan, I am sorry to read of the death of your husband. May the Holy Spirit be with you and comfort you in the days ahead. May the grace of God infuse you and your family during this difficult time. Greta Massing

Oh Cort. You were a true blessing at the department. We've missed seeing you, and your sense of humor was astounding. You had no "filter", whatever came out that was just exactly what you meant. My sincerest sympathy, thoughts and prayers to Susan and your wonderful family.

My first German was learning the name of his dog- it's probably not spelled correctly but "ina klina noch music" (a bit...

Cort, my brother-in-law, my older sister´s husband, and family for just short of 60 years. You made our life fun, you destroyed me in games and laughed about it in that devilish laugh, you teased our mother unmercifully ( which she loved, by the way) you were there for Susan as a brand new husband when Daddy died, and again when Mother died, you teased our younger sister constantly when together, you supported us when Scott died. You were so much to so many. Rest in peace, Cort. Ashley

I am saddened by the loss of Cort who was a family friend and fellow parishioner of Springhill Presbyterian Church. He possessed a quick wit, an engaging personality. and a sharp mind. He had a wonderful family, loving wife, and devoted children. He impacted many students in his teaching and others with his knowledge and insightful intellect. His loss is a significant one for his family, his numerous friends and the community at large. Sincere condolences with the loss of this fine person,...
