Lafayette, LA ----- A Celebration of Life Service for Cortez Anthony Montgomery, 20, will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Carney Funeral Home Chapel, 602 North Pierce St., Lafayette, LA.

Minister James Parker will officiate the services

Interment will follow in Gethsemane Gardens Cemetery in Lafayette, LA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home and will conclude at the time of services.

Cortez was born on Monday, April 30, 2001, the only child born to the parents Kirk Montgomery and Tamekia Noel in New Iberia, LA. He grew up in St. Martinville, LA but was a resident of Breaux Bridge, LA at the time of his passing. One of his proudest moment was becoming a father three weeks ago.

Cortez was suddenly taken from this us in this earthly realm on Thursday, July 22, 2021 in New Iberia, LA. “GONE TOO SOON”

Cortez leaves to celebrate his life and cherish precious memories, his fiance’ and their two children, Nakasia Archangel, Kylan Montgomery and Ger’nei Davis, all of New Iberia, LA; his parents, Kirk (Tracy) Montgomery of San Antonio, TX and Tamekia (Javon) Noel of Breaux Bridge, LA; his grandparents, Mary Joseph of St. Martinville, LA, Larry Nicholas of Breaux Bridge, LA, Paula Montgomery of Lafayette, LA and Lewis Delaqua of Franklin, LA; his aunts and uncles, Coleen Noel, Charles Noel and Cartrell Noel, all of St. Martinville, LA, Monique Jones of Abbeville, LA, Ashley (Darius) Eaglin and Tedrick Noel, both of Lafayette, LA and Larry (Ledeva) Noel of Breaux Bridge, LA; and his godparents, Paulette Montgomery, Billy Joseph, Quincy Love and Jonathan Parish. Other survivors include his great aunts and uncles, cousins and many friends.
