Hanneman Funeral Home Obituary

Cory Eugene Cole rode off into twilight; Monday, February 29th at his home in the company of those he loved and those who loved him. Born on February 21, 1976 to Cindy (who he joins) and Dennis Cole in Wharton, Ohio, Cory’s memory and legend will be remembered in this life by his father, brother Joe Cole, love of his life and best friend Wendy Hensley, sister Deanna Cole Gabe, nephews Conner and Wesley Cole, nieces Katie and Abby Gabe and by a loyal throng of family, friends, and admirers. Cory stuffed two lives worth of experience into the 40 he spent on earth. Before shuffling off this mortal coil, Cory was an adventurer, connoisseur, raconteur, provocateur, cinephile, rummager, rider of powerful metal steeds, and collector of everything that would turn a buck on Ebay. He was a paragon of all things good, virtuous and true even when the world seemed to be ruled by hungry pigs. He remained a renaissance man even in dark times. He was a leader of weird men, and lover of a great woman. Of the countless things Cory excelled at, golf and poker could not be counted among them. Perhaps his most enduring legacy was the ability to bring people together. Family became friends, and friends became family and it is in the comfort of each other that we remember what Cory will always mean to us. Cory asked that no formal service be held. He’d rather set the table for the great party in the sky where he can welcome each of us in turn with a fine scotch and a filthy joke. Ad Astra Per Aspera…..

Arrangements were entrusted to the LEHTOMAA FUNERAL HOME, 201 Osborn Ave. Findlay, Ohio 45840

Cory asked that any donations be made to Shriner’s Hospital or Wounded Warriors of America.

I miss you Baby!!!

Cory you were always like another big annoying brother to me when I was a kid. I have lots of wonderful memories of you. You always could bring the life to any party. You were greatly loved and will be missed. Your family are in my prayers.

You will be missed by so many. RIP Cory. I'm so grateful that I had a chance to meet you and work with you.

Wendy, I'm so sorry to hear about Cory. He will be missed by all of us at the BG Post Ofiice.

I met Cory through my dear friend Wendy, his dear love. I saw right away how much he loved her and she loved him. Cory had this ease about him, this awareness of others and it impressed me. He seemed very interested in making sure others were ok. The deep love Wendy, his Dad, family and close friends had for him is understandable. I wish I knew him earlier, yet I am so grateful I knew him at all.

My heart hurts hearing the news of this special young man. I met cory working at Lowes, he made me smile during a hard time. We were good friends, he drove me and my daughter to the airport in Columbus bc I was scared to drive her alone. We went to an auction together and he helped me learn that " art " , he helped with computers always when I had training classes. He was a GEM!! Too young to go but leaving behind many friends with fond memories!! My deepest sympathy to your family. He loved...

I met Cory 20 years ago along with a few of his crew one night uptown in Findlay. He always knew how to make me smile and laugh during the time we spent together here and there. He was a great friend to me. As we lost touch about 10 years ago I always considered him a good friend. My deepest sympathy for all the family and special friends. We're all so lucky to have known him in this life....and we'll see him in the next.
