I met Dr. Alexandrides in June of 2006 at the Southern Center for International studies ( now the World Affair Council )event that he was presenting at in Atlanta.
I had to admit, he was a fantastic speaker and engaged easily any size room and made people laugh and feel good. After that presentation he mentioned that the WTC Atlanta has an opening for the Dir. position and I shall submit my resume as well. Which I did and this is how my beautiful 15 years of work alongside Dr. Alex has begun.
WTC Atlanta was his passion, he traveled abroad every year to represent WTC Atlanta on International Assemblies, he traveled to NY every year for the members meetings, he actively recruited people in Atlanta for membership and supporting all my Trade Missions. He was tirelessly and happily engaging in WTC Atlanta events, Conferences, brainstorming sessions, he was our Legacy and our go-to person to ask questions or to get advice.
And he never was sad, his upbeat spirit was engaging easily people from around Atlanta and abroad and he would direct them all to the WTC Atlanta, that he was soo proud of and it was his home outside of home.
Dr. Alex, this is what we all called him, was a happy, vibrant, outspoken and highly intelligent man, who could remember details from the events from the 70th-80th and this was admirable.
He was my dear friend, teacher, mentor and I will cherish memories of him forever.
You are greatly missed Dr. Alex, rest in peace.

Dr. Alexandrides was my favorite college professor, and I was fortunate to have stayed in touch over the years, though we lost contact a bit after I moved to Mexico. He always had kind words to say and each time he attended an event where I spoke, he would proudly stand and tell the crowd that I was his star student. Alex, you made a difference in my life and I thank you for that, for sharing your knowledge, and for your friendship over the years. Rest in peace, old friend.

Posted by Barbara Bowers, Costas' wife: I wanted to mention Costas' first wife, Sophia Macris Alexandrides. They were married for 63 years. She was from a Greek-American family in the metro Atlanta area. She went with him to New York and Korea when he worked for the United Nations. She was happy to return to Atlanta and be near her family when he joined Georgia State University. Her obituary is available online.
