Craig was a TA in a class at University of Vermont, where I graduated in December 1978. He was a great "resident" in the each-one-teach-one, with Michela Gallagher, "attending" who's now doing neuroscience work at Johns Hopkins University. They helped me (us) dream bigger and fly higher. I owe them some late homework, God willing we can get it turned in. RIP. Alex and Michael.

Craig, you are a GEM and...

I began working for Craig at the University of Rochester 13 years ago. He taught me a lot about research and helped me get established here. My prayers are with his family.

He was a wonderful mentor to be in Rochester as well as a friend. His influence on me remains to this day both in regards to conducting scientific research as well as what it means to be a caring person. My appreciation for everything he had done for me as a student carries over in my dealings with graduate students that I have in...
