CHAMBERLAIN, COL. CRAIG ROTHWELL US ARMY, RET Age 76, a resident of Albuquerque, died Tuesday, April 10, 2012. He is survived by his wife, of 45 years, Carolyn H. "Lyn" Chamberlain; son, John Mark Chamberlain and wife, Robin of Denver, CO; daughter, Charlotte C. Miller and husband, Robert of Moriarty and son, Eric L. Chamberlain of Albuquerque; five grandchildren, and many other family and friends including his beloved "Kat". Col. Chamberlain was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin William and Marian Chamberlain and brothers, Jack and Skip. He proudly served his country for 30 years in the United States Army. He was in Special Forces for most of his career and served four tours of duty in Vietnam during the war. He received the Distinguished Service Cross, Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal with V Device, Purple Heart, Combat Infantryman's Badge, Master Parachutist Badge, Vietnam Cross of Gallantry and many other awards during this time. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, the Ballut Abyad Shrine Bagpipe Band and member of the Special Forces Association. He enjoyed playing the bagpipes for, as he said, "weddings, buryings and everything in between" all around New Mexico. Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 2012, 2:00 p.m. at St. Mark's on the Mesa Episcopal Church, 431 Richmond Pl NE. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund, 2600 Virginia Ave NW, Washington DC, 20037. Airborne! All the way!

I wish I had REALLY known you Uncle Craig!

Just read if Craig's passing. We spent our training together and was in the same platoon at OCS and then C&GS. Lost contact after that in the halls of JCS for 5 years. Sorry for your loss and my loss of a great friend, soldier and brother Mason.
