HOLOVACH, Craig S. - Of Flushing, age 70, died Tuesday, October 26, 2021 at McLaren-Flint.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11am Thursday, November 4, 2021 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Pastor Randy Johnson officiating.
Per Craig’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Mt. Sinai Lutheran Church in Montrose, Michigan or New Century Chorale.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday and 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Craig was born in Flint, Michigan on May 20, 1951, the son of Steve and Olive "Polly" Holovach. Craig graduated from Southwestern High School, Class of 1969 and was the recipient of multiple self-conferred Ph.D.’s. On August 1, 1981, Craig married Julie Roh at Good Shepard Lutheran Church. He was employed with Michigan Lumber for over 40 years. Craig attained the rank of Eagle Scout and was very proud of his sons attaining the same rank. He was also the recipient of the Silver Beaver Award and the Order of the Arrow Founders Award. Craig was an avid beekeeper and a member of the Michigan Honey Festival Committee. He made 18th and 19th century tinware, an avid woodworker, and was a member of the Eastern Michigan Woodworkers Association. Both Craig and Julie were members of the Great Lakes Swing Dance Club. Above all else, Craig was a profuse purveyor of prevalent provisions, a collector of a lot of sh*t.
Surviving are wife, Julie;
sons, Steven C. Holovach of Flushing and Colton S. Holovach of Mt. Morris Township;
grandson, Harrison James Holovach; 2 grand puppies, CASH and Sydney;
brother, Conrad (Vicki) Holovach of Lake, Michigan;
niece, Krista (George) Vergos of Flushing;
and nephew, Chad (Andrea) Holovach of North Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Polly Holovach and in-laws, Walt and Peg Roh.
