Not sure what to say?

I think of Craig's beautiful memorial often -- so, so much love in that space. Listening to all of the remembrances (and songs!) made me think a lot about what a life well-lived looks like -- even from afar, Craig has become a teacher for me in what that living that kind of life means. And, every time Calvin thoughtfully and artfully halves a dish we're sharing, I feel like Craig is making an appearance.

Hi Calvin, Thank you for letting me be part of Craig's life celebration. And I don't mean that lightly. This period of grieving and slowing down has helped me realize how lucky I am to be part of your lives. Even though we've known each other for 15 years, our connection has been sporadic at times (from my end, not yours). And yet, you and Craig have always welcomed me with open arms. Like wide open arms. At the celebration, I was so surprised at how many people I had recognized...

Craig invited me to collaborate with him and the dental team and also into his home many times (alongside Calvin) to celebrate the holidays. I will never forget his cookies and, most importantly, the thoughtfulness and generosity he demonstrated in making and sharing them. It is rare and precious to know someone who considers others' needs so proactively and then takes action to meet them.

I met Craig for the first time at, of course, the annual Galewood Holiday Shoe Swap, and it quickly become very clear to me a) how kind he was and b) how happy he and Calvin were together. Over the many holiday parties to come, that initial impression was only deepened. Thank you, Calvin and Frances, for sharing him with us all.

My husband, Dr. Scott Tweten, and I are devasted to hear of the loss of Craig Kliger, fellow physician and Tulane Med School classmate. Scott and I were amongst the first of our class to get married, and Craig's friendship, support and attendance at our wedding will remain in my heart. In addition to being a scintillating wedding guest, Craig also finished out our everyday china pattern. Always attentive to the needs of entertaining, Craig also introduced us to aspic, cornish game hens, and...

i will forever remember you (& calvin) shimmying through a bustling frances dining room to make way to the pass to offer a smile and a warm thank you. such a pleasure to cook for you and to become friends through food. you are surely missed!

I knew Craig professionally in ophthalmology for 15 years from the time I was in training. He was deeply committed to patient safety and doing what was best for patients. His work in advocacy saved the vision of thousands of patients in California and the nation. His lasting legacy will always be remembered by his profession and the patients he fought tirelessly to help.

Regretfully, I did not know Craig very well, but I am lucky that our paths crossed during VALOR dinners and the legendary holiday parties. Even during these brief encounters, Craig´s smile, sense of humor, and love for Calvin made a deep impression on me. My memories are of Craig often popping in briefly to share a few poignant comments or observations, often with a mischievous smile and a twinkle in his eye. I vividly remember Craig being a wonderful and gracious host, frequently checking in...

We may miss Craig so much. His dry sense of humour was infectious: Love Mark & Mark xx
