Not sure what to say?

Craig, May you Rest In Peace. I grew up with Craig and attended Oxon Hill Sr. HIgh School in Oxon Hill, MD together. We both played football, he as a tight End and me as a Wide Receiver. He was a year behind me. Craig always had a smile and happy disposition for anyone he met. Would both served our country by serving in the Air Force. My condolences and prayers o out to his family. Until we meet again. Anthony "Tony The Thrill" Hill

2021

I never got a chance to meet Craig directly, but growing up with Alex and spending a fair amount of time in the Sands household, I heard plenty of 'My brother, Craig' stories over the years. I know what he meant to his loved ones and that he will be missed beyond words. To the family, my love and prayers are with you all.

"...slipped the surly bonds of Earth" Fly high little brother

To the Sands Family
For the record, I am also another retired EW trying to continue to serve my country. I have only known Sandman for a few years while we worked in the 36th Electronic Warfare Squadron. I only knew him at work and we laughed and told many stories about flying, Air Force personalities and “management”. He was always relaxed and had time for everyone while he worked diligently, sometimes furiously, to complete any assigned task. He was truly amazing with his...

I had the pleasure of knowing and serving with Sandman in both the F-111E and EF-111 at both Upper Heyford and Mountain Home. We were both deployed to support Operation SOUTHERN WATCH together in 1992. I remember Craig as an outstanding aviator, stand-up USAF officer and as always having a kind word and friendly smile for his many friends and associates. Rest in peace Sandman and may God bless you, your family and friends.

Craig may you rest in peace, you will be missed, never forgotten, until we meet again.

Steal away, steal away!
Steal away to Jesus!
Steal away, steal away home!
I ain't got long to stay here!

My Lord calls me!
He calls me by the thunder!
The trumpet sounds in my soul!
I ain't got long to stay here!

My Lord, he calls me!
He calls me by the lightning!
The trumpet sounds it in my soul!
I ain't got long to stay here!
