Dear Aunt Susie:
Uncle Craig lived a tremendous life! Among all of the great memories I have of Chateau Smith and all of the adventures we shared over the years, two of my favorites occurred when you lived in Little Rock. One was when Uncle Craig worked for Governor Rockefeller and the Governor's pilot flew my brother John and I down to visit you for a week. Impressively, we traveled on the Governor's airplane. On the return flight to Fayetteville, the pilot even allowed me to briefly take over the rudder and I promptly put the plane into a steep bank over the Arkansas River! The second was when Uncle Craig was a Vice President for the Arkansas Travelers, then the Double A affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals. Not only did his photograph appear in the official team yearbook and all of the game day programs, when we would go to the games, we walked straight into the stadium and down to the box seats without even having to pay for our tickets! For a young Cardinals fan, every game when we did that was mind boggling. I also remember when he invited me to lunch one day in Washington, DC at a restaurant across the street from the White House - there was mahogany furniture everywhere and he knew exactly what I would want from the menu before the waiter even arrived at our table. Very few people have uncles like Craig or aunts like you!

Susie,
I am so sorry about Craig. From the time I saw you at Covington Court, time was so short. I know you said it was bad and I am also sad about that.
I know you all have many friends. Please count me among them. If you need me know I'll be there.
I won't be able to attend Craig's service, but know that I will be there in spirit.
Much love, McKee Cox
