Cresencio "Chencho" Vidaure

Cresencio "Chencho" Vidaure, born April 19, 1941 in Glendale, Arizona entered into eternal sleep peacefully at home surrounded by many loved ones on June 1, 2021 after a long battle with COVID-19.

He served in the U.S. Army for four years and was active U. S. Army Reserves for eight years. He is a member of American Legion Post 41.

Chencho was an employee of City of Phoenix Public Works Department for 33 years, climbing the ladder from Solid Waste Laborer to Solid Waste Supervisor. He was an avid Arizona sports teams fan including the Cardinals, Diamondbacks, Phoenix Suns, and Arizona State University. He also coached little league senior baseball for many years at Justine Spitalny (Orioles) and Zito (Braves) elementary schools.

He loved fishing and roughing it in the woods. He took his family to almost every lake and campground in the state of Arizona. He especially loved spending time in Southern California and Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico, deep-sea fishing or just fishing off the piers and shores.

Chencho is preceded in death by son, Stephen Matthew Vidaure, his parents, Carmen and Eulalio Vidaure, a great-great granddaughter, Layla Love Miranda, and many brothers and sisters, nieces, and nephews.

Chencho is survived by his wife Beatrice U. Swayzee; children Susan (Michael) Aguire, Stephanie (Tim) Daniels, Nicholas (Nicole) Bribiescas, Shelley (Jeff) Pomeroy, Michael Cornwell, Vangie (Joe) Fierro, John (Sheri) Escarcega, Mark (Vivian) Escarcega, Richard (Jody) Escarcega, Alex (Dawn) Escarcega, Ernie (Christina) Escarcega; 35 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 14 great-great grandchildren, and two more great-great grandchildren on the way.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation at 8 AM followed by memorial service at 9 AM on Thursday, June 17, 2021 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Avenue, Glendale, AZ 85301.

Mr.Vidaure, you are and will be missed! I miss you!!! I am Blessed that I was able to meet you in this life. Thank you for always being there for me and my family. Always listening and giving advice. Sharing your Back in the Day stories that I'm sure they were crazy moments, but you could look back at them and laugh about it now. I will miss us having a beer or two.You having your O'douls beer, me with an IPA. Holidays will definitely not be the same especially Thanksgiving with you leading off our Family Tradition of each of us given thanks. My girls are missing you, Gaby, Bea, Esme and Valerie. To the world! We lost an Awesome Father, Husband, Tata, Friend. We love you Tata Chris. Again thank you for treating me like a Son. I would say rest in peace, but knowing about you from back in the day, I'm sure you and your friends are having a great time. Lots of love to you Mr. Vidaure.
