Crystal died unexpectedly Thursday, August 9, 2012 in Burlington, Iowa. Crystal Marie Johnson was born November 29, 1979 in Davenport a daughter of Jean T. Quinn and Ron E. Johnson. As a youth growing up in Davenport she had been involved in Junior Theatre, it was ironic that she chose Mime classes, since she was "that girl that talked a mile a minute"! She attended Davenport schools graduating from West High School. She was married before God, March 18, 2000, in Davenport to Chico M. Newman. Crystal currently worked at McDonald's in Burlington, Iowa, as Manager of Hospitality; she took her job seriously, succeeding in improving the store's Customer Service. Crystal's joy in life, were her children, Tarique Sade and Naseem Tahir Newman. She worked hard to provide the extra things to make their birthdays and New Year's celebrations special. Her neighbors said it best; "she was always smiling and friendly". Crystal, a brilliant, dazzling gem, may you rest in peace and love. A memorial fund is being established to help with the children's educational future. Memorials can be made to the Newman Children's Educational Fund. Those left to honor her memory include, Chico, her children, Tarique and Naseem Newman; her mother, Jean Johnson, Davenport, her father and stepmother, Ron and Jerilyn Johnson, Davenport; sisters, Emerald and Tessa, a brother, Grady; grandmothers, Vera Quinn, Mary T. Johnson, her mother-in-law, Arnette Echols, a lifelong friend, Kristen Huber, and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Eugene Johnson, great grandmother, Fannie Carsten Langfeldt, and an uncle, Gary Johnson.
