Rev. C.S.C. William J. Neidhart

Fr Bill was pastor at Holy Cross while I was in elementary school. He was very active with in the school and I have many memories of him. My mom, Louise Reiner, was very active in the church and worked with him on many initiatives as a lay parishioner. I had my First Communion individually during his mass and then he came to my party at the house afterward. That meant so much to me and is a testament to how he was really involved with his parishioners. He baptized my sister, Amy as well....

Fr. Bill was a great pastor, who influenced my life in a variety of ways. He formed a parish team actually several teams of ministers with a variety of gifts and talents for helping the people of Holy Cross parish to learn, live and celebrate the teachings of Vatican II. Having a parish team ministry was new for the 70's, he provided professional help for the team, on how to have effective meetings, how to work with people and how to have fun while doing it. He believed in consensus...
