An Ode to Curt

There once was a young college man named Beattie
Who decided to draw buildings instead of graffiti
After working for Chester
He set out on his own to do better.
as he got older
his designs became bolder
and much to no ones surprise
his 4th and Vine won a prize.
Though his buildings were tall
he loved his boat above all and
pampered it through winter, summer, and fall.
With his craft
(Which was far more than a raft)
he...

Dear Deb, Joel and Kyle;
We are so terribly sorry for your loss. Curt was a wonderful and kind husband, a terrific father and a good friend. He will be missed by all who knew him.

Curt, Glenn (rear view), Steve, Denny - 1965

Curt was a wonderful influence on me during our Lambda Chi days at the UW. He was outgoing and had a good sense of humor, but he was also focused on what he wanted at school. He made the important things his priority, and demonstrated the maturity necessary to do that to the rest of us. I miss you Curt.

Here's a photo from 1965 when Curt's priority was seeing me off to Bellingham after I pinned Barbara.

Deb, Joel and Kyle,
I am so sorry for the loss of your husband and Dad. I know it's been such I long time that Mark and I have been in your lives, but we hold your family dear. Curt was such a wonderful example of what a Father and Husband should be. I will never forget all the times I was able to babysit, or housesit so many years ago. I pray you all are holding up well and your memories of good times and love sustain you. Love to each of you, and God Bless.

Dear Deb, Joel and Kyle,
What a deep sadness to lose Curt. All that you had together will be with you and sustain you. May God keep you tenderly in his loving care.
Love always,
Susan

Dear Deb, Joel and Kyle,
We want you to know what a very dear friend Curt was. He was always made us feel so welcome and was so much fun to be with. We shared so many special times and have such great memories such as Sunday afternoons on the boat at Cozy Cove. He will always be in our hearts.
Love, Marti & Denny

I tried sending good vibes to Curt the last couple of years from the sunshine of New Mexico...hoping for good news from Seattle. Now he is sending them back to me. Thanks, Curt.

Deb, my heart breaks for you and the boys. Rick and I have always thought so highly of you and Curt. Your love was obvious to all. We are so very sorry. Rick and I are thinking of you and praying for all of you. Take care. Love, Janet and Rick Josephson

My memories of you, Curt, are many from growing up together to all of the good with family. You were always a rock and took care of so many. I feel so blessed to be a part of your family and send my love to Deb and Joel and Kyle.
