Not sure what to say?

I'm just sorry I never got the chance to meet you, Curtis. Your sister Gloria and I are long time friends and she is salt of the earth so I suspect you are from that same bolt of cloth. Your obit certainly confirms that. Rest in peace, Kind Sir and may God bless your extended family as they walk through this old valley we must all deal with after the loss of a beloved.

CURTIS WAS MY FRIEND AND STARTING CENTER ON OUR 1963 BAYLOR TEAM. HE DID HIS JOB OF BLOCKING AND PROTECTING THE QB. CURTIS WAS VERY SMART AND WE RAN THE TYPE OF OFFENSE THAT REQUIRED SMART PEOPLE IN THE LINE AND CURTIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST. (PEOPLE SAY A QB AND HIS CENTER SHARE A RELATIONSHIP ON THE TEAM THAT IS NOT DUPLICATED AT ANY OTHER POSITIONS).
MY THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS ARE WITH CURTIS'S FAMILY.
DON TRULL QB-1961-1963

I met Curtis in 1960 when he and my husband were playing in the Texas All Star game right after high school. They both went on to Baylor University and played for the Bears. After Baylor, we all started our families and business careers in different parts of the US. When we moved back to Texas, we settled in Dallas where our friendship was renewed. Curtis spent every Halloween with us & even went Trick or Treating with our 3 girls....now that's a true friend! Yes, Curtis was the epitome...

Curtis was a special friend and neighbor for 45 years. I'm sorry that neither of us could maneuver the steps to our home the last few years, but I have cherished memories of Curtis periodically bringing fresh produce from Farmers' Market along with sage political commentary. Curtis played a key role in our two daughters attending Baylor. I remember what a faithful friend Curtis was to another neighbor and Baylor alum, David Lane, who had terminal brain cancer. I miss Curtis!

My sincere sympathy to you in your loss. I knew Curtis at Baylor when Ray and I lived in the back triplex in Waco. Liza was just a baby. So many wonderful memories. My love to the family.
