I tried to meet Curtis when Tom Ward told me to contact Curtis. I am so sorry to have missed meeting him. May he be living with Jesus in a special way!

My condolences to Mr. Mewbourne´s family. I know my husband, Michael Shepard, would have been with you today at the Celebration of Life if it was at all possible. My own reflections lead me to say: What a difference Mr. Mewbourne made over his lifetime! His company helped to support not only his family but his employees and their families, students and their education. His company thrived and survived the ups and downs of the oil industry. Britt Brookshire took me by Mr Mewburne´s office about 10 years ago. I told him how much I admired the reputation he had established over his long career and that I had never met an employee or business associate who didn´t have something good to say about him. Without hesitation he replied, "Kyle, you can build a reputation over a long career and lose it in an hour." I´ll always remember his sage counsel. Our industry is better because of Curtis Mewburne.

Mr.Mewbourne was a wonderful boss....kind and considerate and he taught me a lot. I will be forever grateful that he gave me the chance to work for him! It was exciting to be a small part of his legacy. May his family be comforted by the many happy memories and the fact that he is with his Savior I love you all and am praying for you Sue
