We became great friends during my many surgeries and life threatning months (25 years ago) and credit Dr. Coleman and St Mary's radiology department for saving my life! My daughter, a physician in Richmond, sent me the link to this article wondering if I knew him. His father delivered my parents, me, and all of my siblings. My father, Coleman Hall, was named for Dr. Coleman, Custis' father. I graduated from Effinger High School in 1945 many years after Custis; so never knew him personally, but knew of him. His sister was my teacher. My condolences to all of the family.

I was sorry to hear about Dr. Coleman's passing. I have some very funny memories involving him and his grandchildren Alyssa and Custis III (lunch at Burger King will never be the same). He was a good man and will not be forgotten. My thoughts are with his wife and family.
