Not sure what to say?

Philip Degnon and Philip Arthur Reidford are gone. Permit me to say goodbye for them. Our young lives were changed by your presence in 1958-9 when you painted The Geeks in our apt. in Lexington and again in Rome when I found you through Mischa Durazzo. It was indeed an Arcadia, made so in part by your singular self. With all our love and sorrow. Adrian Birney

I've been a fan of Mr. Twombly's since I was 16 years old. I am 31 now. I had pulled some "Art In America" magazines out of someone's trash heap, loaded them into the basket on the front of my bike, took them home and studied them. I found many of Cy's works in them. I cut them out and hung them on my bedroom wall.. along with Modigliani, Katz, Matisse, Renior, Degas, Pollock, etc... I enjoyed them. I remember sharing his work with my high school art teacher. My thoughts are with his family.

I am a proud descendent of the Twombly family from NH. Perhaps Cy was also. Our country has lost a great treasure. His works will live on.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

My prayers are with the family. Cy Twombly's work will live on.

The first time, I saw Cy Twombly works was at the Modern Wing of the Art Institute in Chicago and I was immediately thrilled with this artist's paintings. The delicacy and colors along with the fascinating words by historical luminaries, was profound. Peace and sympathy to his loved ones and with time may you heal. Thank you for sharing this remarkable artist with the world. Meditative prayers and sympathy, Lena Feiner

Rest in eternal peace where colors never end.

"To the family of Cy Twombly- May God give you peace and comfort through his Word and the Lord Jesus Christ. I know he will be missed. Neighbor
