I was in Mrs. M's 4th grade glass at Converse in the 1960s. (I remember when Andrew came along!). I had a rough patch in my family about that time and I have never forgotten her incredible kindness and support. She was a remarkable woman. I am in my 60s now, and I have thought of her, with gratitude, at least every few months since that year. I became a writer in large part because she praised and helped build on those early efforts.
