Mom and dad were married for 48 beautiful years. What an example they have set for us all. Mom loved her children with everything she had. She worked for a few short years when she and dad were first married, but for most of her life she raised her kids and grandkids. That's what she loved. That's what she lived for. She was mom to us, but Noni to her five grandchildren who she was so proud of. There were very few conversations she had where she wasn't doting on one of them. Family was the most important thing in her life. She loved so well. She was the glue that kept it all together. Dad provided a wonderful life for mom. They traveled to so many amazing places like Rome, Paris, Hawaii just to name a few. She loved to travel, but her favorite place to be was at the beach. She and dad usually went a few times a year, and usually with the kids but she would have her annual girl's trips with the taste buds that she enjoyed so much.
The past three years have been very hard on mom. Since her stroke in 2019, she had to overcome a lot and dad was by her side for it all. She never fully healed from that and then cancer reared its ugly head. To know mom was to know how stubborn she was and she wanted to fight. This ugly disease was just too much for her body to overcome and she passed very peacefully in her sleep on April 16, 2022. We of course wanted more earthly time with her. She was the one who gave us advice, cheered us on, and supported us in every way.
She was our shopping buddy and boy did she love to shop. She was the best cook. Her famous dressing at Thanksgiving cannot be beat and we can only try to re-create it. It will never be the same. Hosting family gatherings was her most favorite thing. She loved her family being together so much.
Though we will miss her terribly here on earth, we know she is celebrating pain-free in heaven with her mom, dad, Aunt Net and Uncle Mike.
