Chadwick Funeral and Cremation Service, LLC - New London Obituary

Cynthia Kim Phelps (Cindy) from Franklin NH was born to Brenda (Young) Fouts, Eddie Phelps and big sister Corine (Phelps) Choice on 7/11/1972. After a valiant battle with cancer, the Lord called her home on 2/15/2026. She is survived by both her parents, her stepmother Christie Phelps and stepfather Gary Fouts, her sisters Corine ( her fierce protector), Meghan (Fouts) Fortin ( her sister-daughter) and Jessica (Fouts) Cash (the youngest sister with the sweetest old soul), her two stepsisters who were an integral part of her childhood, Jacqueline ( Fouts) Taylor and Ami Fouts, her two stepbrothers Sean and Andrew Hawkes, who she admired and respected. She felt privileged to be called “Auntie Cindy” to over a dozen nieces & nephews, whom she constantly doted on. She is also survived by her two beloved children Abigail (Miller) Knapp and Luke Phelps. Her children were her world and she was a proud and loving mother.

Cindy attended Franklin HS where she met her best friend and soul sister Carrie (LaFlamme) Carter. Together they formed a small group called the Moxie Girls, vowing to be there for one another through life’s happiness & heartbreaks.  After graduating, Cindy worked at Friendly’s and The Soda Shoppe, where she was the best waitress ever, visiting with regular customers and making new friends each day.

Her smile could light up a room and her sense of humor was unmatched. She touched many lives with her “Cindyisms”. She will be deeply missed, yet forever remembered.

A gathering will be held on May 9th at 11 am at the Riverdale Cemetery in Danbury, followed by a Celebration of Life at the Danbury Community Center. All are welcome.

I just want to offer my sincere condolences for you and your families loss.I remember Cindy when she worked at Friendly’s.I worked for Easter Seals at the time and me and the whole group would come in for lunch. She was so kind, funny and friendly and I learned later it was Corine’s sister. What a kind angel on earth.May she rest easy in the arms of the angels.May we honor her memory by simply being kind and friendly.I think she would really like that idea

She was an unforgettable lady with a big heart and a big smile. May God bless her and keep her close. She struggled bravely. She has my affection and will be missed.

My sweet Cindythere are no words that can describe the bond of sisterhood! You were always half of my heart living outside of my body. You were the kindest, truest, most loving person ever, who was too good for this world. God wanted you back! I thank Him for letting us have you for the time that we did!
