Cynthia D. Shaw

I was overwhelmed to hear that Cyndi had gone home to live with our Lord; but I was comforted to hear that she was the happiest that she had ever been at the Shaw family Christmas gathering. I recalled fond memories of Cyndi at other such gatherings. I had just read from a book earlier in the day about how life here is but a blink compared to eternity. Life on earth is a temporary assignment and Cyndi accomplished this assignment beautifully. She will be missed by many and never forgotten.

As a fellow 1975 OHS grad, I extend my deepest sympathy to Cindy’s loved-ones. She was the epitome of what all of us girls secretly wished we could be in high school … blonde, beautiful, cheerleader, and homecoming queen. I trust she didn't suffer too much during her battle. I have prayed that you will find comfort, strength, and abiding peace, taking solace in the fact that Cindy is well cared for and loved where she is and you'll see her again.

It was quite a shock to learn of Cindy's passing. Cindy was a huge part of our family's lives, she and my brother Steve Cheek dated while at Osborne High. She always made time to visit with me and my twin brother (Gregg) and could often be found jumping on the trampoline with us. I always wanted to grow up to be just like Cindy, on pep rally days I would dress up like a Cardinal cheerleader and she would lead me across the gym floor to join the "real" cheerleaders. Cindy was so happy and thrilled to look forward to having the twin girls, Peyton & Parker. We treasure the memory of our last personal visit with Cindy, James Kirby and Shaw family members 6 Dec 03. May the peace of Christ abide with all.
