Cyril Robert Gilfether

Cy was my grandfather. Grampy, as I called him... he was a wonderful man, we will all miss him very much. I'd like to say we weren't expecting this... he'd been in the hospital many times before, facing death, but pulled out of it and to everyone's suprise and joy. But it was time. He was feeling tired and streched. I hope he rests in peace. I know in heaven he will be beside God, probably stirring things up. I love you Grampy.

I first met Cy when he volunteered at BACS with the Alzheimer's and Frail Elder program.. He brought many a happy smile with his music and friendliness.I'm sure that he is doing the same thing right now......

I worked with Cy several years ago, when I was the Excutive Secretary for St. Vincent De Paul, Oakland. Cy was always kind to me and I much appreciated his words of support and advice. The world is a kinder place because of him.
