I was so saddened to learn of Lorena's death. I had not seen her but a few times in recent years, but she and her family were like my family for many years. My family is deeply saddened to hear of her death. I have claimed her for a friend for 53 years, from the time I was 10 months old. Mrs. Bevis was capable of lifting everyone's spirits by her humor and kindness. The last time I saw her was about 3 years ago, when she made cookies for me and we ate watermelon.
