D. Mike RUST

Again struck by the need to get to know people better while they are alive. We never know when our time will come, so we have to be prepared to meet our Maker who is both the lover of our soul and our eternal judge. Mike will be missed.

People come. People go. And then there is a man you never forget. Mike Rust is such a man. The world is a empty place without him.

Mike was a wonderful man whose zest for life was obvious to anyone who was fortunate enough to spend time with him. He was a great friend ~ I treasure the memories of shared adventures with Mike and feel fortunate for the time spent in his company. I think of Mike on the ski slopes with that charming grin - always ready for the next lift ride. I'll make some turns for you this winter, my friend.

I just heard of Mike's death. I was sorry to hear of it as Mike was a great guy. My only interaction with Mike was business, as I was the claims manager for Transamerica Insurance Company. I would see him often when he was with Jerry Duncan's office. I was also sorry that we never talked of his time in the Navy, as I too was in the Navy and in helicopters (Combat Search & Rescue) off the coast of Vietnam (69-73) My sincere condolences.
