I went to high school with D.C. and she was always the most uplifting person around. I just loved her sense of humor and how she drew everyone together. I recently rekindled our connection on FB a few years ago. It was so much fun to read her books. I was as shocked as everyone else at what has happened. My heart goes out to her family. I cannot imagine how devastating this is. D.C. touched so many people and we are all blessed for it. Much laughter in heaven, D.C.!

This world just won't be the same without DC in it. She was truly one of the funniest! I was hoping to visit her this March when I come down to Florida. I know she is so ecstatic with her new life in Heaven now! Fly High DC, and thanks for all the fun memories and books you left behind for us! Till we meet again my sweet Cuz!

Very sad to read this. I met DC in Dallas in '84 through a mutual Toledo friend, and these are certainly the traits I remember. We reconnected briefly via e-mail correspondence after I read her first book...still as bold and vibrant.
My sincerest sympathies to her family and those closest to her.

Oh Stanfa family ... what a loss. I knew DC through Sherry and the stories she told. The world is a little grayer now. All my love to the Stanfa family.

Dearest DC,
I'm also living in SW Florida these days, but if I were in Toledo, I would petition Loma Linda Mexican Restaurant to dim their lights on a busy Friday night and observe a moment of silence in your memory. I'm sure they would do it in heartbeat. Then I would be ejected for attempting to incite everyone to table dance in your honor.
Rest easy, Dear Lady.
