Dr. Kim and I regularly had lunch together in Austin to explore the design of a baccalaureate martial arts program for Concordia University Texas. We also dined together as friends in our home and in theirs. The Kims were very gracious people and we benefited from their kindness in many ways. We miss them both.

While a student at the University of Texas 50 years ago, I had my memorable but only Judo class I ever enrolled in. It was led by Dr. Kim. I still remember that Dr. Kim had just arrived in the U.S. from Korea only days before our Judo class started that semester.
