Jean and Mel were also cherished members of a Play Reading group which met monthly for 42 years in Ann Arbor. We met each other first in 1970 when Mel was on my late husband's dissertation committee for his PhD in Clinical Psychology. I miss seeing them in Michigan and In Florida, as Mel is now in Chicago. Love to you, Mel,

Dear Manis Family, I am so sorry for your loss. Jean was a very kind and dear friend. It was my pleasure to be a helping hand. Jean was always appreciative and I have many fond memories of the time we spent together. I will always cherish our friendship. I will miss her. Cindy LaRock

On behalf of all of us at the Racquet Club of Ann Arbor, I would like to send our condolences to the Manis family. Jean and Mel were great stewards of the Club and of the sport of tennis.

Dear Daisy, you had a marriage like few others - 70 years! And you raised two amazing sons. I will always remember and appreciate your support and enthusiasm at watching me and David in our various theatrical endeavors. Mel, Peter, David - may your memories of her and the lives you shared sustain you through her passing. Much love to you.
