Not sure what to say?

There is not enough space or words to truly discuss Dale. He was my oldest friend--since 1959, and the father of my two sons. We have many memories. Dale touched lives everywhere he went and will be missed.

I opened up the Chef's Inn for Dale as a bartender on 9/9/64 and worked for him 5 years. He and Sonia designed it and found Chuck Miller for the piano bar, what a combo, from that day on it roared and for about 10 years it was THE PLACE. It changed the night life in Anchorage and brought us into a new era for the bar and restaurant business. We learned many things from Dale including a few things NOT TO DO. You made your mark on all of us, thank you very much.

I knew Dale from the old Green Dragon days and worked for him at the Chef's,visited several times in San Diego. Will miss him very much.

sorry to see your dads passing John. Jim gray hope all is well I still make it to willow every 5 yrs. or so take care

My Brother Lance & I grew up with the Moorman family. My Mother, Marie & Father, Paul were part of the Chef's Inn family as well. There was never a more kind, generous or colorful "back in the day" Alaskan than Dale. He, along with those times are sorely missed! He enabled us to enjoy our "formative years" in an unimaginable fashion.
God's Speed Dale!

I remember when my father, Bob, and mother, Fae, bought the Chef's Inn from Dale many years ago. They both spoke very highly of Dale and the great restaurant and bar that he started. I remember grilling many steaks on the grill and dancing on the famous "piano bar". My thoughts and prayers go out to Dale's family.

We have been friends of Dale and Sonia for many years and have kept our friendship on going. I worked for Dale and Sonia for twelve years at the "Great Chef's Inn" What Great Memories. We spent much time with them at their home in Big Lake. Dale always took our Boys and many others water skiing! One time he had seven up skiing behind his boat! Our boys said that Dale treated them like his own Sons. They both said he was a Great Man and had a Heart of Gold. So did Sonia. Rest in Peace,...

I first became acquainted with Dale when I moved to Alaska in 1973 and my brother, Bill Cunningham, introduced me to Chef's Inn. I have fond memories of Dale, the "raunchy corner", liars poker and dancing on the piano bar, along with the get-togethers at Dale & Sonia's cabin at Big Lake. My heartfelt sympathy goes out to the family and friends of Dale Moorman.

Very sorry to hear of your loss. I presently own the Chef's Inn, and hear Dale Moormans name every once in a while. Just recently I heard stories from a former bartender about Dale. If you have an pictures or stories you would like to share, I would be happy to display them and the Chef's Inn. Regards, Frank Dahl
