Dale Allen Olson was born on February 2, 1982 in Wilmar, MN. He grew up in Spicer, MN on the shores of Green Lake and graduated from New London High School in 2000 where he played football and wrestled along with his academic pursuits. Dale loved hunting, fishing and simply rambling in the outdoors. Dale was a devoted Green Bay Packer fan and got to travel to Lambeau Field with family last month. He was an entrepreneur in his youth, mowing lawns and owning and operating a roadside nightcrawler stand. His mom and dad assisted him in this flourishing venture. Dale and Lonnie spent countless days together sharing their passion for the outdoors. The annual deer hunt, day trips to Minnesota lakes and longer trips to North Dakota and Canada were eagerly anticipated. Every season brought new adventures for Dale, Lonnie and their gang.
After high school, Dale worked for John Pulsifer Construction, travelling throughout the mid-west. In 2010 Dale moved to Sioux Falls, SD and began 8 years of employment with Beck and Hofer Construction. Dale was foreman for the company's steel division and was well respected by co-workers and clients. In May 2013 Dale married Kacie Schneider on a bright but windy day at Palisades State Park. The happy couple set up housekeeping in Harrisburg, enjoying the small-town benefits they grew up with. Dale was eagerly accepted by his new family. The couple made numerous trips to Pierre to share time with family, and of course hunt and fish. Kacie's walls, not necessarily to her liking, were soon filled with trophy whitetail mounts from Potter County. Dale was equally enamored with Kacie's old ladders, barn wood and owl prints.
Dale and Kacie were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Kendell, in 2015. Dale was an amazing, caring, over protective father and created memories with Kendell that she will cherish for a lifetime. Unfortunately, Dale's life was cut short by melanoma cancer and he passed away on December 26, 2018 at Ava's House in Sioux Falls.
Dale will be greatly missed by his loving wife and daughter, Kacie and Kendell, parents, Lonnie and Sharon Olson, sisters Shawna (Rick) Adams, and Lisa (Randy) Dostal, and nephews Cody and Seth Campbell and Andrew and Nathan Dostal. He is also survived by his in-laws, Bob and Kris Schneider and sister-in-law Sara (Matt) Odden and their children Noah and Audrey and a host of other relatives and friends.
Those preceding him in death are his grandparents, Edwin and Hattie Olson and Hugo and Violet Steffen.
A Memorial service for Dale will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Shalom Lutheran Church in Harrisburg. The family will be present to greet friends Friday evening at the Church from 5:00 to 7:00 pm with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Dale’s name.

Dale and I have worked together for over 8 years. He was a great leader that cared deeply for the men who worked for him and with him. Dale had solid values and a deep commitment to his craft and this company. I can honestly say that I am a better man because of him. He will be dearly missed and always remembered. my prayers are with Kacie, Kendell and the entire family. Rest in Peace my friend. I will see you in heaven.
