I remember working with Dale over 33 years ago, he was a kind, gentle man to me. Dale, take the pebble from my hand, going in peace. My thoughts & prayers are for you & your family.

I knew Dale for 16 years. He owned property behind my home and would often stop by to chat. He loved gardening and would bring my family vegetables from his garden each summer. He planted lilac bushes behind my house from cuttings that he took from his own. Each year Dale made compost from our grass clippings & planted pumpkins for my children. He graciously let my boys ride their dirtbikes on his property, and play in the trees. He talked about how he and his father planted the rows of White Pines on the property. He spoke often of his many nieces & nephews, and his trips to Hawaii with them as they graduated. Dale always brought back Hawaiian chocolates for us. We will think of him each time we see the lovely things that he planted for us to enjoy. He was very special and will be missed.

I met Dale Raffler in 1995 or so as a fellow concerned citizen of the City of Rochester Hills. He was unafraid to speak his mind and express his opinion to make his city and our world a better place. He was fair-minded and generous. He was always willing to share and support the efforts of good people and good deeds. He is missed. He set a great example for others. He was brave and willing to accept criticism for his positions and involve himself with matters that most would ignore. May God bless you Dale. It was an honor to know you.
Dale loved life and was a man of integrity.

Dale was one of the best friends any one could have ever. I am glad that he and his family have enriched my life here on earth. Dale was brilliant, loving, kind, and a man of honor and integrity. All of the Rafflers that I know are the salt of the earth and definitely worth loving. May the Lord above be with the Rafflers.

Dale seemed to know everyone on Hartline and he was just so full of knowledge; If you wanted to know the best candidate to vote for- you could trust that Dale would know. The best way to garden- he's the man. How butterflies thrive- him again, he even knew what to do with rhubarb :)amazing!... When my health wasn't so great- he would cut my grass or shovel my driveway (mine and many other neighbors). He was absolutely one of the kindest souls I've had the pleasure to know. One of the 'good people' that truly touched many hearts and lives. I wish there were more people as selfless, kind and interesting as Dale. He will be missed by all of us!

We never met "Uncle Sonny", but felt we knew him through my precious sister in law, Sandra Brock. The stories she shared with us over the years will always bring a smile to our hearts, and I know we will share them many times again with David and Sandra. May the whole family rest knowing that each of them, along with Uncle Sonny is in God's hands, and that is the safest place to be.
With deepest sympathy, and all our love and prayers,
Harold and Sheila
Our girls and a friend after picking blackberries from Mr. Dale's bushes.

Dale blessed our family often with vegetables from his garden. Our three girls would occasionally visit him in warmer weather to pick blackberries in his yard and talk. Dale would send them home with puddings, strudels, and treats. Dale would regularly keep us updated on all that was going on in our community and politics. We would often see him helping out his neighbors in various ways. Dale is probably the nicest and kindest person we have ever met. We will never forget him. Peace and comfort through Christ to his family during this difficult time. The Higginbottoms on Hartline.
