Randgaard, Dale A. Sr. age 81, of Watertown, SD passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2006 in a Sioux Falls hospital. Mem- orial services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at the Grace Lutheran Church, Watertown, SD Interment will be in the Ft. Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Dale enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a medic Corpsman during World War II. While attending Beauty School in Minneapolis, he met Lula Nichols and the couple formed a loving and enduring partnership. They were married on March 22, 1958 in Minneapolis, MN. Together they built and operated the successful, Dale's Beauty Salon, a mainstay at 38th and Grand in South Minneapolis for 38 years. If you were unable to drive, they picked you up; if you needed a laugh, you were guaranteed that too. Dale loved bowling, and playing cribbage and games of all kinds. One of his passions was croquet and playing in an annual Croquet tournament for many years in Watertown. He won the tournament twice and amazingly at the age of 76. Dale displayed the same youthful zeal with his children and grandchildren, and they always came first. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. He was an active member of Grace Lutheran Church in Watertown, serving as an usher and participating in church dinners, and also Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Minneapolis. Dale is cherished by his wife of 47 years, Lula Randgaard of Watertown; four daughters, Lea (John), Lynn (Todd), Connie and Kathy; two sons, Dean (Vickie), and Tony Randgaard; one brother, Paul; six granddaughters, Kacey, Korey, Kirby, Kyli, Nicole and Lexi, and one grandson, Chase; two brothers-in-law, Alf Bergan and John Nichols; and his prized independent companion cat, named Scuffy. I knew Dale when he was working for Maxim's Fashion Beauty Salons. I also was a customer of his at his shop on 38th & Grand. I lived on Blaisdell and 38th st. He and his wife were always doing hair for the elderly. I also knew his brother Paul from Maxim's. Am sorry to hear of his demise. Joyce (Crooker) Rose
