Dallas Ray Martin

Dallas Ray Martin, 81, Elkhart, died 3:09 p.m. Monday, June 30, 2014 at Courtyard Healthcare of Goshen. He was born Sept. 13, 1932 in Elkhart to Floyd F. & Velma (Secor) Martin. He married Gloria J. (Breniser) Martin on December 16, 1951 in Goshen. Surviving are his wife, Gloria, sons, Steven (Penny) Martin, Warsaw, Gregory (Jeanie) Martin, Elkhart, David (Terri) Martin, Brandon, South Dakota, Jeffery (Teresa) Martin, Elkhart, Scott (Cheri) Martin, Elkhart, sister, Eileen Sweazy, Elkhart, brother, Bemis (Eileen) Martin, Goshen, grandchildren, Neil & Tara Martin, Thomas (Megan) Martin, Katie (Jon) Yoder, Aimee (Brian) Fluegge & JD Martin, Randall (Liz) Martin & Rachel (Rusty) Brown, Austin & Alex Martin, Adrienne (Elijah) Arias, great-grandchildren, Max Martin, Jake & Liza Yoder, James & Layla Fluegge, Oliver Martin and Logan Brown. Preceding him in death are his parents, brother, Ronald Martin and brother-in-law, Bob Sweazy. Dallas was a contractor and a builder. He was a member of the Beulah Missionary Church, where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon for many years. He was a member of the Gideons and a lifetime member of the Prairie Camp Board. Dallas loved to travel, spend time with his family and attend concord basketball games. Family will greet friends 9-11 a.m. Saturday, August 2, 2014 at Beulah Missionary Church, 57597 Old County Road 17, Goshen, where a celebration of life service will follow at 11 a.m. Dr. Brent Poe and Rev. Wayne Speicher will officiate. Burial will be in Frame Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to Prairie Camp.
