Dallas "Mack" McDowell

Without a doubt Dallas Was one of my favorite police officers. His down home personality and grandfatherly approach to the job and fellow officers was genuine and always refreshing. I have fond memories of our conversations together and it always bring a smile to my face. I was proud to be one of his supervisors. God bless his family and friends. Sorry I learned of his death too late to attend the funeral.

I got to know Mr. McDowell through my very good friend from college, his daughter, Emily. I have great memories of going to Emily's parents house to eat dinner, and listening to his stories and jokes. He really had a way of lighting up a room and I looked forward to those visits. Over the years Emily kept me looped in on how things were going with her parents and I loved hearing about his adventures in gardening and "feral cat rescuing."
