Not sure what to say?

Betty: I am saddened to hear of Dal's passing. My heart is with you and your family in this time of sorrow. My family and I cherish the wonderful memories of our time with you and Dal over the years. I am still in Portland and would love to talk with you.

Dear Family, My thoughts and prayers are with you. Dallas was like my grandfather, Floyd Mckennon. They were almost bigger than life themselves and leave such a hole. I got to enjoy Dallas on his visits to my Grandfather, Floyd, at the ranch in Monroe and later when my grandparents moved to Kenmore. They stayed in touch and he visited when he could. I'm sorry that I never got to know his family. Love to All, Barb McKennon Moen

Dear Family
I only met one of the boys in 1966 while on liberty from the Marines.
But my grandfather was cousin to Dallas and we had the privledge of knowing him just a little. I wish I'd known, I would have come. Let peace be with you all through this time. My heart is with you. Know you have a family member that cares. Love to all. Bill.

Judy & I are saddened to hear of the passing of Mr. Buttons, Captain Zoom etc. That trip to Disneyland in the summer of 1955 (It was the summer it opened I think) that Dal took us on will always be one of my fondest memories. As is the time I was in Southern California on an Oregonian carrier trip and you took me out to Dinner at a Polynesian Restaurant. If for any reason you or your family happen to be in the upper mid west please be in touch. Please accept our deepest...

To the McKennon Family: It was with great sadness that I read of Dal's death on my birthday. Dal was an important part of my growing-up years in Portland radio. I was 10 when I began doing radio dramas at KGW, and often did shows with Dal, Janet Baumhover, Edith Ormandy, Bob Amsbury, Homer Welsh and of course, the wonderful Glen Shelley, plus many other well-known local actors and musicians. I remained in radio, theatre and TV, and eventually became "Miss Dorothy" of KPTV's Romper Room"...

Well, Linda and I were classmates at Dixie Canyon elementary school. I knew her dad as Mr. McKennon, just one of the more involved parents in the PTA that was always there to make sure that the school carnival and other activities were a success. A wonderful talent, and more important, a great parent and a very nice man.

I went to a Vox Box class to lern how to make animal sounds from Dallas McKemmon. One evening My self an seveial peaple was at His home Studio and I said let see if I can fool the Profeser. I will Bark like a Dog And the rest of You help out and look for the Dog. So Bark Bark Bow Wow ( WHERE IS THE DOG? Dal yells out)(No Dogs aloued in My Studio), (OK Who is the Dog). 20 Years went by Dal was with Me im the car and asked Did You ever know who the dog was?, I was the Dog. Dal said Bob You get...

I so remember those days. Glenn Shelley was at my dads house playing my dads theatre organ. Dallas and Betty were also there. Glenn was mostly blind by this time and Dallas and Betty had picked him up. Glenn played the organ which I believe was his last time, since he could not see, my dad changed stops as he played. It was a wonderful evening both Ingrid and I will forever remember. I took lots of photos as all of us got together, another wonderful evening, another era gone. Love to...

To the McKennon family- I am sorry to read about the passing of your dear husband, Dad and Grandpa. My grandfather, Glenn Shelley and Dal were great friends and performers in the early radio/TV days in Portland. My family has also followed the wonderful career Dal had in TV. I know he will be deeply missed.
In time, I would love to share with you the recordings I have of "Gramps' and Dal plus a myriad of pictures and KGW history from those radio days...
I am so sorry for your loss...
