Dalton Edward Atkinson

Obituary

ATKINSON Dalton Edward Atkinson (our best buddy), 11 years old, of Richmond, went to be with his Lord on December 6, 2006. He is survived by his mom and dad, Kay and Marc Atkinson; sister, Melanie Atkinson; one uncle, Jeff Cooper; one aunt, Kristen McGowen and her husband, Marc; his maternal grandmother, Christine Cooper; paternal grandmother, Linda Kester; and paternal great-grandfather, Dave Wormuth. He also leaves many great-uncles and aunts and cousins whom he loved dearly. He was met in heaven by his maternal grandpa and namesake, Dalton Cooper, who is surely already playing baseball with him. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, December 10, at the West Chapel of the Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad Street Road. A funeral service will be conducted at Ridge Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 12, at 2 p.m. Interment Mt. Vernon Memorial Park. Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to the Richmond S.P.C.A., where Dalton fell in love with and wanted to help every animal.
This obituary was originally published in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.
