Christian Benevolent Funeral Home, Inc. Obituary

Mr. Dalton C. Easter, age 69, of Mobile, Alabama, passed away Friday, April 3rd, 2020.

He was born September 23rd, 1950 to Louise (Washington) and Walter Easter, Sr. He grew up in Alabama, and enlisted in the United States Army shortly before his nineteenth birthday. He courageously served as a member of the 1st Cavalry Division in the Vietnam War, and was the recipient of numerous awards and badges, including two Bronze Service medals. After leaving active duty, Dalton continued his service by volunteering for Veterans’ organizations and special events. He was especially proud to have been a driving force in bringing the Vietnam War Moving Wall memorial to Northern Michigan, where he also lived many years of his life.

Dalton was not only a dedicated serviceman, but a devoted father as well. Nothing brought him more happiness than his children and grandchildren, and he was quick to share how proud he was of all their accomplishments. Also a caring friend to many, Dalton would reach out to help anyone in need, even if it meant putting their needs before his own. Everyone that was fortunate enough to know Dalton knows that he loved to tell a good story, share lots of laughs and reminisce about good times he had over the course of his eventful life. Dalton will be greatly missed by many.

He is survived by his children Martel (Emily)Easter, Dalton (Kecia) Easter Jr., Angel Easter, Louise Easter, Lakota Easter, Mychael Easter, and Walter Easter III. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, brothers Frederick Easter and Willie Easter, numerous nieces and nephews, and close friends he considered family. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Walter Easter Jr. and Charles Easter.

A memorial service for Dalton will be held at a later date.
